  1. Charming Monster-Collector Coromon Out Now on Mobile, Melodious Metroidvania 9 Years of Shadows Arrives Tomorrow on Nintendo Switch

Two adventures from publisher Freedom Games’ library make their way onto new platforms this week: Coromon, the beloved modern monster-taming RPG from developer TRAGsoft, brings adventure to mobile devices via the App Store and Google Play today. 9 Years of Shadows, the resplendent pixel art Metroidvania from developer Halberd Studios, lifts a colorless curse on Nintendo Switch tomorrow, 9 Nov.

Collect, befriend, and battle Coromon’s captivating creatures found in the Velua region’s beautiful biomes. Learn the ins and outs of all 120 titular creatures, including their evolutions, traits, strengths, and weaknesses to form the optimal battle party. Challenge fellow trainers and unfriendly foes from a malevolent underground organization. Perfect your party to prepare for massive, multi-phase battles with tremendous titans.

With a team of Coromon at their trainer’s side, unravel dozens of engaging puzzles, side quests, and secrets. No two playthroughs need be alike with included difficulty settings and fan-favorite “Nuzlocke” and “Randomizer” modes. Take on the endless Battle Dome challenge to hone in on Coromon combat skills. Bring the journey to the PC and console versions of Coromon with Cross-Save functionally, and battle real-life trainers around the world with crossplay multiplayer.

Celebrate Coromon on mobile with a special “Launch Party” event with exclusive cosmetics: four animated Battle Researcher party hats, and a delightfully festive Confetti skin for the Coromon Ruptius!

Break a long-standing curse and revive a monochromatic Metroidvania land in 9 Years of Shadows. Challenge fearsome creatures and the mazes of a massive citadel as the resolute warrior Europa and her newfound cuddly companion Apino. Map the many chambers of Castle Talos to reach and destroy its core - the source of their world’s grayscale affliction.

Match the might of massive bosses using treasured elemental armors of civilizations long past. Master the special abilities of each and switch between each stunning suit on the fly to overcome beautifully crafted areas and fiercely depicted enemies. 9 Years of Shadows is gorgeous for the eyes and ears with a soundtrack scored in a soothing 432hz by storied composers Michiru Yamane (Castlevania series) and Norihiko Hibino (Metal Gear Solid series).

“Taking the leap to a new platform is quite the challenge, and one that the dev teams at TRAGsoft and Halberd studios have taken in stride,” said Benjamin Tarsa, Director of Publishing, Freedom Games. “We’re thrilled to have helped them along on this journey to bring their enchanting stories to new audiences.”

Coromon is now available on the App Store and Google Play as a “try-before-you-buy” title including a $4.99 USD in-game purchase to access the full game, with support for 21 languages including English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazilian), Turkish, Tagalog, Thai, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese.

Upgrade to the full version of Coromon on mobile to access the “Launch Party” cosmetics for free throughout November. The cosmetics will become available for purchase after the event ends Dec. 1.

9 Years of Shadows will be available on Thursday, 9 November on Nintendo Switch for $19.99 USD with English and Spanish language support.
