Detailed review of Monster Hunter: World, the first blockbuster of 2018.

Monster Hunter: World, the game which is expected to become a hit before its release, completely satisfies anyone who expects it. 9.5/10; 4.5/5 ... these are the scores that you can see on any Monster Hunter: World’s review a day after the launch day. To put it simply, the latest installment in the Capcom's series is definitely the best game of this time.

Monster Hunter: World has an extremely simple core value, which is hunting. You are a hunter and the world around you is filled with horrible and terrifying monsters. All you need to do is to kill them, collect ingredients from them to create more powerful items, so that you can hunt more powerful monsters. Completely simple, that's Monster Hunter. But Capcom has obtained great achievements when building a world around that core.

Monster Hunter: The World possesses 14 different types of weapons, each of them can make you feel like you are playing a different game with the weapon you used before. It could be a sword and a shield, or a crossbow, or even Hunting Horn - a giant hammer which is able to create “buff” indicator for character...

Monsters themselves also have their own weaknesses and strengths, along with the countless ingredients that you can collect from them. That's a whole treasure for the player to create the items he wants. Moreover, players also have cat friends (Palico), which have different appearance and different ability. Lastly, when you feel you masters the game, along with high-rank, the game will unlock new monsters, change some old ones, and nearly duplicate the number of items you can own, making "World" become strange again.

There is a characteristic of Monster Hunter series that makes it impossible to become more popular (in comparison with its achieved level in the past), that is the complexity. For many players, Monster Hunter is too hard to enjoy. So that Capcom has made some proper adjustments to World.

Monster Hunter: The World retains its core value. The menu system is still complex, the combat system is difficult and it requires players to use observation rather than only fighting. You will have to learn and "remember" everything, from recipes to make a blood potion to complicated combos.

So what changes? That is the way they are presented. Everything will become easier to understand, crafting becomes simpler, and collecting items becomes more efficiently than ever before. Of course, not everything is completely changed, there is something of Monster Hunter: World which still makes you not know how to do. Obviously, the game becomes easier for newcomers (a bit) but remains the complexity that attracts hardcore gamers.

The plot is not mentioned in the previous games of the series, and so is Monster Hunter: World’s. All you need to know is that you set foot on a new continent. And next? Let’s start the ultimate hunting journey.

There are many people wondering whether repeating an action makes the game boring or not. Absolutely not. Unless you don’t like this game, the hunting trips of World will never become boring. There will always be new things for you to explore, new recipes to make, even a new system will suddenly appear after more than 50 hours of "hunting."

Capcom has built a perfect "hunting" system. For example, you can find a target for hunting trip. In the previous titles, everything you need to do is just "walk through" wait for your prey. With World, Scoutflies system is really a great replacement. Firstly, you need to identify the lair of prey in a certain area. Then, you need to collect traces, such as footprints or saliva (!!!!). When enough, a navigation system (smell) will appear and lead you to the prey. Much more interesting, right?

Moreover, World system gives you more than the traces of prey. Or exactly, the more traces you find, the more you will understand the prey. In the first meeting, your Hunter's Note will show the most basic description of the beast. Next time, other information will gradually be added. You'll know what its weakness is, or where to strike to find more “extra bonuses" ... By this way, hunting becomes more interesting because of the information you can collect.

Another big change, of course, is that Monster Hunter is "transfered" from mobile devices to console (PC’s is available in August) with more powerful hardware, where graphics can catch up with design. Capcom artists now have the ability to show their skills, create ancient forests or deserts with distinctive ecosystem, lively and detailed monsters. All make players impressed to see the scene, before again burying his head on hunting.

Last but not least, or even the most important, it is the monster. Monster Hunter is monster hunting series, and World has upgraded these beasts to a new level. Now, you will feel your preys are really living in their world. The animals living in the same area will have different reactions to you and to other animals. Watch them, you'll quickly realize which ones are dangerous, which ones are not. For example, Great Jagras would just scream at you to chase you away if you "accidentally" enter its lair. In contrast, the giant Anjanath with its flames of fire will attack you, and obviously an inevitable battle will occur.

Monster Hunter: World also supports Multiplayer mode, so that players can enjoy hunting together. However, Capcom seems to have done a bad job of capturing all players to see all the cut scenes before they can start a campaign. This will sometimes make gamers annoyed. In short, Capcom should do some appropriate changes to Multiplayer mode of World in the upcoming updates.

It is said that playing Monster Hunter: World is like watching an animal show. The things you can see in the forests of "World" will make you feel to be in a real forest. That, of course, will make your hunting trips more interesting.

Monster Hunter: World is a hit and the hardcore players of this series have confirmed that. And if you are newcomers? Let's try, and maybe several hours later, you will also become a part of that community.
