Hacker is sentenced to prison for attacking Game Server after 8 Years

  1. A hacker has officially been sentenced to prison for daring to attack Game Server after 8 years.

    For most players, "hacker" refers to the developer who uses dirty tools to gain benefits in the game. However, there is another type of hacker who is not aiming to win the game in the virtual world. They only want to deprive everyone of their gaming experience by attacking the Server.

    Eight years ago, a Romanian man did that by using Distributed Denial of Service (DDOS) to make European Server of World of Warcraft overloaded. Now after eight years, justice has been made and 38-year-old Calin Mateias will take full responsibility for daring to tease Blizzard - one of the gaming giants well-known for implementing strong methods with hacker.

    Specifically, Calin Mateias have to compensate Blizzard for nearly $30,000 along with one year in prison. Although it has been taken place in 2010, early this year Mateias has to take responsibility for his action. Mateias claims that DDOS Server World of WarCraft is aimed take revenge of his team members for not sharing Loot.​
